Jim Carrey is seriously having himself quite a week. First we premiered the brand new trailer for the hotly anticipated hardcore superhero sequel "Kick-Ass 2" yesterday, which co-stars Carrey as club-wielding psycho Colonel Stars and Stripes. And then last night was the world premiere of his new movie "Burt Wonderstone," which sees Carrey facing off against Steve Carell in a battle of comedic heavyweights.
And now? Well, according to Access Hollywood, Carrey revealed that he and Jeff Daniels may reunite for "Dumb and Dumber 2" (rumored to be titled "Dumb and Dumber To") as early as next year.
Hey, for a dumb guy, Carrey's career moves this week sure seem smart.
"Dumb and Dumber," of course, is the cult classic 1994 comedy featuring Carrey and Daniels as two of the stupidest people in world history. The film was a massive hit when it came out, earning nearly $250 million worldwide (which, adjusted for inflation, is nearly ten qunzillion bucks today), so a sequel seemed obvious.
But for whatever reason, Carrey and Daniels could never quite come together, leading to the 2003 prequel atrocity "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd," which starred neither of them and pleased nobody alive.
Now, though, it seems that Carry and Daniels have finally cleared their schedule just in time for "Dumb and Dumber's" 20th anniversary. Well, maybe.
"We’re talking about it," Carrey said in a red carpet interview. "Jeff and I are really excited about it and hopefully next year we’ll be able to do that [and] get it together."
So you're telling us there's a chance?
