We need no longer ask, "Wherefore art thou, Romeo?"
The doomed son of Montague whose only love sprung from his only hate will live -- and die -- once again as British thespian Douglas Booth has joined the cast of "Romeo and Juliet," according to Variety.
Booth joins a cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet; Ed Westwick as Juliet's hot-tempered cousin, Tybalt; Kodi Smit-McPhee as Romeo's cousin and the play's voice of reason, Benvolio; and Holly Hunter as Juliet's outspoken, scene-stealing Nurse.
Director Carlo Carlei has accepted the daunting task of creating an adaptation of Shakespeare's classic tragedy that's at least as bold and memorable as Baz Luhrmann's manic, seething and undeniably passionate 1996 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
Douglas Booth as recently seen in the television mini-series, "The Pillars of the Earth." He'll next be seen later this year as Miley Cyrus' love interest in "LOL" and will be seen next year as Pip in the new "Great Expectations" mini-series, co-starring Ray Winstone as Magwitch.
Speaking of Winstone... has Juliet's stern father, Lord Capulet, been cast in "Romeo and Juliet?" He'd be pretty great.
"Romeo and Juliet" begins production this summer in Italy.
