Step-By-Step Movie Dance How-To Posters

Dancing Plague

Back in 1518, a bunch of dancing fools in some po'dunk town in France were affected by something coined dancing mania. (No, that is not a technical term.)

It began with one lady named Frau Troffea (yes, that's her real name) dancing in the street and ended with about 400 people joining her. They danced for days without rest which resulted in more than a few deaths, heart attacks, strokes and exhaustion. In other words, it really was a dancing plague.

Now, some genius has paid homage to our love of dance (though without the death part) by creating posters that map out the most beloved dances to appear on the big screen.

From Olive's stripper moves in "Little Miss Sunshine" to the iconic hip-thrusting of "Napoleon Dynamite," these are the moves you need to know. Check it out for yourself, courtesy of Dancing Plague of 1518 (catchy name), and get ready to put on your dancing shoes.
