"The Dark Knight Rises" star Christian Bale issued a statement yesterday expressing his support for the families of the victims in last week's mass shooting in Colorado.
"Words cannot express the horror that I feel," he said, according to an MTV report. "I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
The statement from Bale comes as the nation continues to mourn the 12 movie fans who were shot and killed during a midnight screening on "The Dark Knight Rises" early Friday morning. Hundreds of people gathered for a candlelight vigil in Aurora, Colorado on Friday night, while the online community rallied support for the film in honor of the victims, with MTV joining the effort by presenting five reasons to go see the film in spite of the tragedy.
