Beware the rage of Irish thespians.
"Bridesmaids" star Chris O'Dowd has some fightin' words for "Transformers" director Michael Bay — and just in time for St. Patrick's Day, according to the Toronto Sun.
Like any good (and temperamental) Irish gentleman, O'Dowd has stepped up to defend the honor of a lady who's apparently been mistreated – in this case, his "Friends With Kids" co-star, Megan Fox. O'Dowd is appalled that Fox has received so much backlash after being fired from the "Transformers" franchise and replaced by Rosie Whiteley-Huntington, the result of a spat between her and Bay (which involved her referring to the director as "Hitler").
"I don't know the ins and outs of it but it's all down to having a fallout with Michael Bay," said O'Dowd. "But who wouldn't have a fallout with him? It's one of the sexist things [sic] I've ever seen. She called him an a**hole. Well, he is a f**king a**hole. She's not the only one who has said that. Why has she been singled out?"
O'Dowd doesn't seem to care that such remarks might keep him from working with one of Hollywood's most popular filmmakers. "I would never f**king watch his films, never mind go and act in them," he claims.
No word on how Megan Fox feels about her honor being defended so … colorfully, and there's been no rebuttal from Mr. Bay (yet), either.
You know what would be awesome? If O'Dowd actually got cast in Bay's "Pain and Gain" and/or "Transformers 4" after this. Your move, Michael.
