All of the week's hot casting news in one fell swoop ...

• Never go home with the maid! Michelle Williams is the current frontrunner for the female lead in "Double Hour," a remake of the 2009 Italian film "La Doppia Ora," in which a hook-up between an ex-cop and a hotel maid at a speed-dating event turns deadly when they're ambushed by a gang of criminals. • A prison term requires meticulous preparation if one is to survive all the shivving, shanking and soap-dropping. Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart will be getting ready for the big house in "Get Hard," in which a convicted soft-handed investment banker recruits the services of the guy who washes his car to help him get through his upcoming maximum security prison sentence. [Deadline]

• They had us at "a Western starring Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender," but "Jane Got a Gun" just keeps getting better as "Warrior" star Joel Edgerton has joined the period thriller about a woman (Portman) who reaches out to her ex-lover (Fassbender) when her outlaw husband becomes the target of a violent gang. Edgerton will be playing the gang leader that comes a'callin' for some killin'. [Deadline]

• Beware the girl next door! Michael Shannon and Samantha Morton will play concerned parents in "The Harvest," a horror film about a mom and dead who care for their very sick son in a completely controlled environment — one that threatens to fall apart when the lad strikes up a relationship with his new neighbor. The film is director John McNaughton's ("Wild Things") first feature in over 11 years. [Variety]

• "Twilight" star Jackson Rathbone did the vampire thing ... now he's trying another kind of supernatural heartbreaker. The former Jasper Hale will star in "The Concerto," the story of a musician (Janel Parrish of "Pretty Little Liars") who moves into a house that's haunted by a handsome ghost. [Deadline]

Dylan McDermott just gets more and more horrific. The "American Horror Story" star will be making a terrifying leap from the boob tube to the big screen for "Mercy," the story of two brothers (Chandler Riggs and Joel Courtney) who journey with their mother (Frances O'Connor) to take care of their grandma, who happens to be a witch. The film is based on Stephen King's short story, "Gramma," originally published in 1984. [Heat Vision]

• Another actor is lacing up their traveling shoes for the "Walk of Shame." "Community" star Gillian Jacobs will be playing Elizabeth Banks' best friend in the dark comedy about a woman's bizarre and harrowing trek through Los Angeles the morning after a night of wild abandon. [The Hollywood Reporter]

• If anyone could completely nail the role of an aging rock star, it's definitely Nick Nolte. The "Gangter Squad" geezer will headline "Always On My Mind" (we wonder if that's named after a song?), a drama about a former wild and crazy guy who's suddenly battling with Alzheimer's as he comes to the end of a life of excess and self-destruction. Glenn Close will play his long-suffering wife. [Deadline]
