The Ranger's not going to be so "lone" after all.

The West has gotten a little bit wilder with Helena Bonham Carter, Dwight Yoakam and Barry Pepper joining the cast of "The Lone Ranger," according to Variety.

The trio will be joining Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson and Ruth Wilson in director Gore Verbinski's big-budget take on the masked vigilante.

"The Lone Ranger" follows the Ranger (Hammer) and Tonto (Depp) as they look to take down the Cavendish Gang after they attack the Texas Rangers.

Yoakam, whom we already know looks right at home in a cowboy hat, will be playing Butch Cavendish, the leader of the gang and the movie's primary villain. Pepper, who didn't look too shabby in a cowboy hat in the Coen Brothers' "True Grit," will be playing Captain J. Fuller, the leader of the Texas Rangers.

As for Carter, Depp just can't seem to get away from his frequent co-star, even in a non-Tim Burton film. The "Harry Potter" actress will be playing -- somewhat unsurprisingly -- the madame of a local brothel.

Filling out this merry band of players is Wilkinson as a shady railroad tycoon and Wilson as what we're assuming will be a love interest for Mr. Hammer.

This has definitely shaped up to be one powerhouse cast, though we're most excited about Yoakam as the bad guy -- if he brings the same kind of psycho energy to this that he did in "Panic Room" ("I'm Raoul..."), he might just create a new all-time classic Disney villain.

"The Lone Ranger" will begin shooting this fall and will ride into theaters on Dec. 21, 2012.
