Brittany Snow has built a career on being a pretty blond who can act and now she's showing audiences her range by proving she's a pretty blond who can act and sing.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress has joined the cast of "Pitch Perfect," based on GQ writer Mickey Rapkin's non-fiction book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory."
If the book's obtuse title has you confused, the film will tell the story of a female college a cappella group that bands together to compete against an established all-male team.
Snow has already proven herself as a triple threat in the 2007 musical remake of John Waters' "Hairspray," where she won over audiences as bitchy Amber Tussle and the second prettiest member of the Zac Efron-helmed cast.
The actress joins "Up in the Air" star Anna Kendrick, who will play a rebellious student trying to figure out her place, and Rebel Wilson, best known for her comedic turn as Kristen Wiig's boundary-challenged tattoo enthusiast roommate in "Bridesmaids."
Wilson and Kendrick will be sharing the screen more than once in the next year; in addition to "Pitch Perfect," the actresses will co-star in the film adaptation of the classic pregnancy manual "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
