The company of "The Company You Keep" keeps getting larger, as Sundance darling Brit Marling is now in talks to play the female lead in Robert Redford's film, according to Variety.
Redford is starring in and directing the political thriller about a former militant wanted by the FBI who must go on the run when his true identity is exposed by an ambitious young reporter, to be played by Shia LaBeouf. Nick Nolte will also be on hand to snarl and growl and bluster about.
Brit Marling enjoyed a successful Sundance this year as the star and co-writer of "Another Earth," a fantastical drama that had a rather polarizing effect on audiences, and as the star and co-writer of "Sound of My Voice," in which she played a mysterious cult leader.
Marling just recently wrapped production on the new drama, "Arbitrage," co-starring Richard Gere, Tim Roth and Susan Sarandon. She's also set to reunite with "Sound of My Voice" director Zal Batmanglij for his new thriller, "The East."
We love us a Sundance success story. Especially when it's pretty, smart and talented.
"The Company You Keep" will be released sometime in 2012.
