Bradley Cooper: From law-breaker to law-enforcer.

The "Hangover" star is saying goodbye to his wild nights of debaucherizin' (for now) and embracing the life of a police officer in the new crime drama, "The Place Beyond the Pines," according to Variety.

The film reunites Ryan Gosling with writer-director Derek Cianfrance, who worked together to great effect in the most depressing movie ever made, "Blue Valentine."

In "The Place Beyond the Pines," Gosling plays a motorcycle stunt rider who becomes a bank robber to support his newborn son. Cooper will play the rookie cop with whom the rookie criminal crosses paths.

Bradley Cooper is currently attached to the lead role of Eric Draven in the "Crow" remake, but as that project is currently on hold due to legal troubles, "The Place Beyond on the Pines" will probably be his next gig after he wraps shooting "The Words," a thriller co-starring Zoe Saldana, Dennis Quaid and Jeremy Irons, this month.

Cooper is also attached to star as Lucifer in Alex Proyas' "Paradise Lost" and will play a role in the Wachowskis' "Cloud Atlas."

Anyway, Gosling and Cooper? We like it. They can just charmingly grin at each other the whole time and it'll be worth seeing.

"The Place Beyond the Pines" will begin shooting in July in New York.
