It was a busy Thanksgiving at the cineplex, and according to Film.com both "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "Frozen" have reason to give thanks, as the two films helped set a new box office record.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" led the way with another $110.2 million over the extended five day weekend, bringing its ten day total to an impressive $296.6 million. "Frozen" opened strong as well, earning $93 million in its five day debut. Overall, the box office brought in a whopping $294 million, breaking the previous record of $289.6 million, set just last year.
