Liam Neeson's international revenge thriller "Taken 2" punched the competition right in the face this weekend, debuting with an impressive $50 million according to Film.com. That was nearly double the amount earned by second place finisher "Hotel Transylvania" ($26.3 million) and more than double the amount earned by the first "Taken" in its 2009 debut ($24 million).
Not everyone had a great weekend, though, as Tim Burton's animated labor of love "Frankenweenie" brought in just $11.5 million, finishing in fifth place and continuing Burton's recent box office slump.
