Loveable felt puppets proved no match for placenta-eating vampires this weekend, as "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" topped "The Muppets" to take number one at the box office for the second week in a row. The fourth entry in the zeitgeist-defining franchise from author Stephenie Meyer earned $62 million over the extended five-day holiday weekend compared to a strong $42 debut from Jim Henson's beloved creations.
Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally the busiest of the year, so there was plenty of box office scratch to go around, with the family-friendly trio of "Arthur Christmas," "Happy Feet Two" and "Hugo" rounding out the top five.
