Oh, sure, you already knew that; after all, what is a vampire other than a creature that feeds on human prey? But in the brand hew trailer for "Bel Ami," Pattinson plays a very different kind of predator -- one who stalks the bedroom in search of sexual power.
We're guessing he just caught more than your attention.
Based on the classic 1885 novel by Guy de Maupassant, "Bel Ami" tells the story of a down on his luck former soldier (that's Pattinson) who uses his wit, charm and certain other talents to climb the social ladder of 19th century Paris. The secret to his success? He's Robert Pattinson -- and it turns out 19th century Parisian ladies are just as susceptible to the powers of Team Edward as 21st century girls.
Of course, unlike Edward, Pattinson's character in "Bel Ami" is less concerned with love and more concerned with how he can use it to further his own ends.
