Bilbo Baggins' 'Hobbit' House ... Made From Balloons

Balloons are cool. You can inflate them, float them around, fill them with water and, well, that's more or less it. Unless you're really skilled, in which case maybe you can twist one up to kind of resemble a giraffe or something. Yes, balloons are really cool even if there aren't that many things you can actually do with them.

Oh, but there is one other thing you can do with balloons: Re-create Middle-earth.

Seriously.

Yes, believe it or not, a serious balloon expert and J.R.R. Tolkien fan by the name of Jeremy Telford has put together a tremendously... unexpected... tribute to the world of Middle-earth just in time for the December 14 release of "The Hobbit." Namely, he's turned his home into a faithful re-creation of Bag End, Bilbo Baggins' house in Hobbiton, using nothing but thousands of balloons.

Sound impossible? Well, take a deep breath — or several million of them — and check out this time-lapse clip from Bit Rebels that shows just how he did it:
