This just in: Ashley Greene rocks.
Oh, sure, fans of "Twilight" have been saying this ever since the up-and-coming actress first donned prosthetic fangs to play psychic vampire Alice Cullen. But now Hollywood has made it official, as Variety is reporting that Greene has just joined the cast of the upcoming music biopic "CBGB."
"CBGB," which is set to begin filming later this summer for a 2013 release, stars Alan Rickman as real-life legend Hilly Kristal, a visionary club owner who opened the CBGB rock club in New York City in the early 1970s. CBGB soon became ground zero for the emerging punk movement, with bands like The Ramones, Blondie and The Talking Heads all getting their breaks there.
And now Greene is going to join that august company as she's set to play Kristal's daughter, Lisa Kristal. That's right, people: We've got a "Twilight" meets "Harry Potter" scenario brewing here, as not only is Rickman on board, but Rupert Grint is signed on for the film as well. Someone alert the internet authorities before the entire web is consumed by it's own buzz.
Fans waiting to see Greene's post-"Twilight career won't have to wait until "CBGB" to catch her in action, as Greene's foray into horror, "The Apparition," hits theaters on Aug. 24. Ghosts, vampires and wizards? Looks like Ashley Greene really is living out the punk dream.
