Alec Baldwin has been in the headlines a lot recently for negative reasons, but this weekend he finally made headlines for a happy reason, as according to The New York Times, the veteran actor and star of "30 Rock" married girlfriend Hilaria Thomas yesterday.
The wedding, which is the first for Thomas and the second for Baldwin, took place at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York.
Baldwin, of course, was previously married to Kim Basinger from 1993-2002 before a contentious divorce that has provided tabloids with material for the last decade. And in recent months, Baldwin has also come under fire for incidents ranging from playing video games on a airplane to altercations with the paparazzi.
All of that took a back seat over the weekend, though, as Baldwin, 54, tied the knot with the 28-year-old Thomas, a yoga instructor who runs two studios in New York. The two first met in February of 2011 and quickly became an item despite her reported concerns over their age difference.
"I've dated a lot of people since my divorce, and have thought a lot about what I wanted and what I wanted to do," Baldwin told The New York Times. "I thought about it too much, I suppose. I wasn't really ready to take that chance and to act until I met Hilaria."
Baldwin can currently be seen in "Rock of Ages" and "To Rome With Love."
