Lo, what dastardly villain(s) will be feeling the wrath of Thor's mighty hammer?
The god of thunder is going to have his work cut out for him as "Lost" veteran Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on to play not one but two bad guy roles in "Thor: The Dark World," according to Variety.
Well, two bad guys ... sort of. Akinnuoye-Agbaje is set to play Algrim the Strong, the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves who is coerced by Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston) to fight Thor (Chris Hemsworth). After he's betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse.
By Odin's beard! It's a good thing Natalie Portman is around again to help.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje joins a cast that also includes returning "Thor" players Stellan Skarsgard, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander and Rene Russo. Kat Dennings has also recently been confirmed to be returning as Natalie's undergrad assistant/wacky sidekick.
It sounds like "Thor: The Dark World" is shaping up to be quite the epic adventure, one that's going all-out insane after original "Thor" director Kenneth Branagh helped initially sell what was a rather bizarre concept to mainstream audiences. Oh, and Chris Hemsworth's hotness probably helped with that, too.
"Thor: The Dark World" is set to be directed by "Game of Thrones" helmer Alan Taylor and will hit theaters on Nov. 8, 2013.
