Vote For Best Hero at the MTV Movie Awards

The Avengers
Marvel Films

Remember when you used to just sit back and passively watch the MTV Movie Awards? Those days are gone.

The 2012 show is expanding its horizons even further as it's initiated its first-ever live social voting category. From now until the live show, you can vote for Best Hero via Twitter using associated hashtags, including: Harry Potter ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," #votepotter), Katniss Everdeen ("The Hunger Games," #votekatniss), Thor ("Thor," #votethor), Captain America ("Captain America: The First Avenger," #votecaptain) and Jenko ("21 Jump Street," #votejenko).

You can track the real-time voting results all the way through the live show via MTV's Twitter Tracker, available at the official site of the MTV Movie Awards. During the ceremony, Twitter Tracker will provide a visualization of the popularity of the show's various moments in a moving timeline; you'll be able to click on individual moments to see how many tweets per minute the moment is generating, read a sampling of tweets and share images of the moment across your social graph.

The social voting category and Twitter Tracker isn't all MTV has up its sleeve for the 2012 Movie Awards. You'll also be plugged into the Facebook Tracker, which will highlight and visualize fan likes and shares of key show moments from the MTV Facebook page. The show will also feature All Access Live, an immersive second-screen co-viewing experience that will live across all of MTV's digital and mobile properties and provide fans with tools to discuss and share show moments in real time.

Get ready to truly be a part of the inner workings of the MTV Movie Awards. Don't miss the latest installment of the Golden Popcorn Chronicles, which will commence on Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
