The Costume Institute Gala, aka the Met Gala or Met Ball, is an event that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. Nicknamed the "Oscars of the East Coast," the party always lures the stars — including Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Rooney Mara, Elizabeth Banks and many, many more — all decked out in their classiest get-ups.
