Nothing like a bearded "undemocratically-elected leader" to subtly threaten viewers into voting!

Sacha Baron Cohen's latest character, "The Dictator," appears in a promo for the upcoming 2012 MTV Movie Awards. He may seem chill in the clip, but we're betting he'll be up to no good when the awards ceremony rolls around on Sunday, June 3. In fact, he's already making threats, promising dire consequences if you don't start voting for the winners STAT.

Oh my sweet Thor. I'm still in a daze from last night's events.

See, I've been (im)patiently awaiting "The Avengers" since the end credits for 2008's "Iron Man." And when I sat in the Hall H audience at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con and heard Joss Whedon reveal he'd direct "Avengers," I've since been anticipating 2012 for this event even more than my own college graduation.

Not unlike my midnight mayhem with "The Hunger Games," I invited scores of my friends  to join me for the late-night premiere of our favorite Marvel movie heroes. Marvel apparel was encouraged, but boy, they took the suggestion seriously. We walked to the Kips Bay 15 theater in Manhattan and swarmed the lines with our enthusiasm ... and hero-laden t-shirts.

Yes, the movie will still have showtimes for the next few weeks that aren't in the wee hours of the morn, but midnight has always been my favorite time to screen a film. Only the most dedicated, hardcore fans will line up in whatever weather to get the best (or worst) seats in the house and update their statuses immediately upon exiting the theater. They laugh the loudest (I bet Agent Coulson does stand-up in his spare time), geek out at the tiniest Easter egg of hints, and don't flinch a muscle until the end credits have come and gone.

Oh, and they tend to dress up, too.

Having planned my suit since Halloween of last year, I showed up as Iron Man (NOT Iron Lady, though that ended up sticking by the end of the night), and I swear this was the closest I'll ever be to being a celebrity. I had some creative license with my costume, putting wall lights in my red gloves to imitate repulsor blasters, and an old-school arc reactor attached to my American Apparel body suit. Let's just say every nerd in the house was excited for more than just the movie starting. But I didn't get the memo that apparently Captain America is the 'in' Avenger right now, with everyone and their second cousins dressing up as the patriotic guy, but that just made me stand out even more.

The film far exceeded any expectations I came in with -- which might sound weird, but I didn't come in with any. I had to restrain my inner-Hulk not to read spoilers for nearly a year now, but I knew I was in for a treat. Hello, no one does "Nerd" truer than Joss Whedon. That alone guaranteed a superhero film to top all superhero films. And Mark Ruffalo's Hulk: perfect casting. Finally they did the big green guy right.

Also, Marvel chooses its character storylines carefully. There's a reason none of the films leading up to "The Avengers" have flopped horrendously like say, another jolly green jewelry-wearing fella. These heroes have much more  sass, class, and all-around badassery, but the reason I park my butt in a seat for every film is that they're relatable. They're no holier-than-thou heroes that can knock you to oblivion; they have egos, they screw up, and often don't play well with others. That's what makes this movie so utterly fantastic and every comic book reader's dreams come true: It's the ultimate alliance of misunderstood super freaks who set aside differences to fight something bigger than themselves.

Best. Midnight. Movie. EVER. So, 2012 is set to be the year of the best midnight screenings ever. Two down, who knows how many more to go this summer? And I swear I don't do cosplay and take 30 friends with me to EVERY movie ... If only.

"Avengers" baddie Tom Hiddleston sits down with MTV's After Hours to make it known that he's much more like Loki than people give him credit for. "I'm a bit of a prankster. I can be pretty menacing. I can go there," he says.

The MTV offices had the honor of spending the day with Hiddleston's shenanigans and maniacal laugh. Clearly Loki's the Ashton Kutcher from Asgard who just likes the occasional prank. Give  the misunderstood guy a break!

By the way can Wendy the mustache get a cameo in the "Avengers" sequel?

Earlier this month, Josh Hutcherson was adamant in his belief that Gary Ross was the only guy for the director job of "Catching Fire." Obviously, after a whirlwind of Ross stepping down and Francis Lawrence stepping up to the plate, we have to wonder what Peeta has to say about the swap.

"I literally don't think I've talked to someone on the phone and they've sounded more upset than he was," Hutcherson told MTV at CinemaCon. He speaks to Ross' schedule conflicts with getting the script and the cast in place in time for an August shoot date.

The Boy with the Bread also spoke to his faith in Lawrence, so we're sure the rest of the cast and fan base will surely follow suit. He's already got our vote.

Alice Eve is quickly gaining traction on this side of the pond, and we couldn't be more thrilled to see the blonde bombshell   kicking alien butt this summer as a young Agent O in "Men in Black III."

Mia Wasikowska has played Alice, Jane Eyre, the daughter of two lesbians and the wife of a crossdresser. Talk about a diverse resume!

The young actress recently signed on to play the titular "Madame Bovary" with Sophia Barthes directing, according to Variety. Paul Giamatti is also in talks to co-star.

For those who weren't paying attention in AP English, the classic Gustave Flaubert novel divulges the lavish lifestyle and affairs of a bored doctor's wife yearning to escape the mundane. The literary masterpiece has been adapted for primarily the British screen in the 20th century, but this screenplay by Rose Barreneche promises to stay true to the period while also appealing to the "youthful and contemporary themes."

Wasikowska is riding a seemingly never-ending wave of headlining roles that hone in on her unique talent and Australian looks. Not only can she easily carry a film on her own, but the fresh-faced starlet has held her own against mega-watted celebs like Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender and Glenn Close.

While she's had a busy 2010 and 2011 promoting critically-acclaimed films, Wasikowska is spending 2012 finishing up other productions that are sure to make her even more of a household name, including "Lawless" with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Jessica Chastain.

We're digging the awesome ensembles Wasikowska's joining, proving her taste is almost as great as her talent.

Hell hath no fury like an apple pie scorned.

In light of the upcoming "American Reunion", the stars are popping up everywhere once again ... including the ill-fated pastry from the first installment. The pie has since become a pop culture icon for blooming sexuality (and a cautionary tale for mothers everywhere to hide their baked goods from hormonal teens), and it's high time the dish got its due.

Funny Or Die unveiled Jason Biggs' recurring horrors of his one-time stand with the titular American pie. It starts as a prank, but things quickly go rotten for the star.

Watch below (with headphones! It's totally NSFW) and think twice before you toss that fresh-baked dessert in the garbage.

The Capitol would've had no problem finding Tributes for the "Hunger Games" last night.

Fans flocked to over 2,000 sold out theaters to root for Katniss Everdeen and experience the big screen adaptation of the Suzanne Collins' novel. And of course, they came decked out in their truest fanatic fashion form. Girls on Fire and Boys with Bread joined the lines to get a first glimpse of the film when the clock struck midnight. Handmade memorabilia and detailed scene costumes also grabbed the attention of those in line and passersby.

Even stars of the film took part in the cultural phenomenon. Amandla Stenberg (Rue) tweeted a picture with her friends while they waited for the show to start.

The odds were ever in our favor last night. Though I can't say the same for the rest of the theater.

For the past few months, I've drooled more and more with each "Hunger Games" scene or trailer that's hit the web. A die-hard fan of the book series, I had to share this fantastic dystopian story with my friends, all 120 of the NYU Admissions Ambassadors. They were hooked before the Reaping even took place.

When ticket pre-sales started, you bet I booked it to the theater like it was the Cornucopia. When a movie outsells midnight shows faster than sparkly vampires, you know something's afoot. But I wasn't going to leave my pals in the dust. So I bought 34 tickets, as there were that many volunteer tributes willing to join me.

Standing in line at the theater is one of my favorite parts of the midnight screening experience. Everyone appeared to be college-aged or younger (we were at Manhattan's Regal Union Square, conveniently located near NYU), and there were plenty of eccentric and dedicated outfits to snap photos of, myself included. We got in line for our 12:10 a.m. showing up at 9 p.m. sharp. The few of my friends who shunned the book before were hurriedly tearing through the pages to get in the know.

Fans cheered every few minutes for no reason other than pure excitement. We even got interviewed by College Humor, though we weren't too humored by their warped "Hunger Games" trivia.

While "Hunger Games" may not have costumes as recognizable as, say, "Harry Potter," getting in style to honor the film was easy. I donned my "arena Katniss" look, mockingjay pin and combat boots included. I saw a bow-slinging Katniss taking photos with her own Boy with the Bread. There were several Tributes in torn training gear marching around.  And running into a few women from the Capitol (pictured right) was really the cherry on top.

We dominated theater 13 at the Regal - and dubbed it our own District 13, naturally. Nothing like watching the "Games" with 34 of my closest friends! We snatched the best seats in the house and got comfortable very quickly. I even started our own snack Hob, passing around sodas and candy, even refilling the oversized bucket of popcorn again and again as we filled plastic bags. Hey, what would Katniss do?

Last-minute bathroom runs were taken just short of the showtime. At 12:10 a.m., breathing stopped and cheering commenced as the lights dimmed. For once, I wanted the trailers to fast-forward and get to the good stuff. Then ... it began.

We laughed. We gasped. We aww'd. I even heard a few of my friends sniffling as they wiped away tears (oh, Rue ...). Katniss, Peeta, and the rest of the characters were people that both my guy friends and girl friends could relate to and appreciate.

The movie could have been another three hours and we would've sat through the whole thing without complaints. But Gary Ross and crew: You hit the bullseye. It didn't feel like we were watching some movie adaptation; we were pulled entirely into the experience, like we were District citizens watching our beloved characters fight for their lives. It's like Ross incepted our minds and created everything we pictured the story to be to the tee.

I say without hyperbole, this was easily the best night of my young life. To experience such a cultural spectacle with my best friends -- a story that speaks beyond pages and love triangles and echoes real-life -- was something I wouldn't trade for a million squirrels or tesserae.  Like "1984," this could be a story that will transcend generations and forewarn the dangers of an unknown future.

And as the posters promised, the world was watching last night -- to the tune of a whopping $20 million. Take that, "Twilight"!

Stop the presses! Apparently 'Edith Fartsberg' isn't Megan Fox's real name.

MTV grilled Fox and her "Friends with Kids" co-star Adam Scott on "The Yes/No Show," where the guests are limited to answers in the form of ... well, you get it.

Fox might be the only human on Earth who can explain the plot of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," though this is coming from an actress who claims she's never sexted before. Adams, on the other hand, enjoys bro handshakes and joy riding in cars with Paul Rudd while injuring homeless people.
